Ar. Jayant M. Vaidya joined the family firm M/s. D. R. Vaidya & Co. as a junior architect, in the year 1970 and gradually became partner of the said firm since, March1976. During this period he had an opportunity to work and learn under the guidance of
his father Ar. Manohar D. Vaidya. In last more than 3 decades Ar. Jayant M. Vaidya has executed numerous multi-storied / High-rise Residential, Commercial & Industrial buildings inclusive of some of the prestigious Educational
and Medical projects. At present overall office administration / supervision is being managed by Ar. Jayant M. Vaidya.
Along-with managing the routine office work, Ar. Jayant Vaidya is actively involved towards betterment of architectural profession by devoting his time energy to organization like PEATA (India), i.e. Practicing Architects Engineers and Town Planners Association.
(India), having a strength of about 3000 members. Ar. Vaidya has risen from an executive committee member to the President of the said organization. On numerous occasions he has represented PEATA (India) and interacted with
high-level Government and Municipal authorities, Ministers etc. on various issues related to building industries and have achieved fruitful results. He was on the Executive Committee since 1990. He was President of the said
organization for the year 1999-2001. This was not only in the interest of professional fraternity but also in the interest of the Society at large.
He was one of the instrumental in simplifying the municipal regulations and publication of handbook on municipal byelaws, for proper interpretation and simplification of Development Control Rules & Regulations. He took the initiative in sending a team
of 16 structural engineers to earthquake-affected areas of Gujarat, to assist the Local Authorities. He was instrumental in giving a total new modern out-look to the PEATA (India) Newsletters, devoting each newsletter to a
specific subject related to the field of architecture. Fire Brigade Awards to the deserving firemen of Mumbai were commenced during his tenure, being President of PEATA (I). The key-note address given by him at the FICCI meeting
held on the subject of 'Reforms in Municipal Bye-Laws', in collaboration with the State Government, was well appreciated by everyone concerned. Thus, he is totally dedicated to architectural field, having excellent organizational
capacities.
Considering his expertise in the field of Architecture, since 2004, the Governor of Maharashtra has appointed him as a Chancellor's nominee on the Building Works Committee of Pune University. The Government of Maharashtra has also appointed him as an
expert to study the problems of High-rise buildings. The Government has also entrusted him the job of designing Bal-Bhavan at Marine-Drive Mumbai.
